Artexis-easyFairs Group announces record profits and revenues

Belgian-based events organiser restructures for further growth

Hall 1Specialist event organiser and venue manager the Artexis Group has reported a 17% increase in revenues to €94 million for its financial year 2012-13 and a 39% leap in EBITDA to €12 million. “We are delighted with these excellent financial results, which provide a solid platform for the next phase in our remarkable growth story,” commented Artexis Founder and Chief Executive Officer Eric Everard. The Artexis Group comprises two activities : Artexis, which organises events and exhibitions and manages venues in the Benelux and Nordic regions; and easyFairs, a globally active organiser of trade shows in 15 countries. “We are now looking to build on the synergies between these operating divisions. We are broadening our horizons and will accelerate our growth at the international level, not only with easyFairs. Our long-term vision is to become a global player in multi-format events that inspire and energise both consumer and professional communities,” added Everard.

The Artexis Group will pursue this strategy through a combination of organic growth and mergers and acquisitions.

To support its strategic expansion, Artexis Group has made two key appointments to reinforce the team at its Brussels headquarters. Marc Hellemans, formerly CFO at Cofinimmo, a company listed on the Brussels Stock Exchange and active in the real estate sector, joins as Group Chief Financial Officer. Anne Lafère, who has been with Artexis for 15 years and has managed Artexis shows in Belgium, is appointed Group Chief Operating Officer.

All regions and operating divisions in the Group will henceforth report directly to Eric Everard.
Within the framework of this strategic development and convergence of some Group functions, Jean-François Quentin, CEO of easyFairs, has decided to leave the Artexis Group and to pursue other opportunities after 10 years at the helm of easyFairs’ epic voyage.

“I would like to thank Jean-François very warmly for his fantastic contribution to the creation and evolution of easyFairs. During his time at easyFairs we launched some 150 trade shows in 15 countries and have become a major events industry partner for professional communities such as packaging, bulk solids and tank storage,” said Everard.
